Prometheus: Beneath an alien sky

05/12/06  ||  Lord K Philipson

According to the press sheet that came with this disc:“A reviewer once wrote that: “Prometheus has the anguish of Katatonia, the ferocious guitars of Iced Earth, the melancholy and sweet female vocals of Within Temptation, the gothic elements of Moonspell, the melodic death metal riffs of Dark Tranquillity and a bit of Opeth’s complexity”. A description which fits Promoetheus like a glove”.

It should have said this:

“Prometheus has absolutely nothing in common with Katatonia. As mentioned, there are female vocals but they are not sweet or anything close to the Within Temptation cunt. Prometheus never heard Iced Earth. Moonspell sucks so the comparison is justified. Dark Tranquillity not only spell the last part of their moniker wrong, they never sounded this weak. And Prometheus just wish that they had the complexity of Opeth.”

What Penisius offers is nothing short of badly produced, weak as fuck, full-assed bullshit music. When it’s meant to be atmospheric and moody it turns out to be irritating and lame as cowshit. It definitely doesn’t help that they throw in some completely out of the blue semi-blasts that make no sense at all in this mess. I have eaten cotton with more crunch than what these twats are capable of doing.

Fire every single member and do something else with your lives, coz music is definitely not yer thing even if the ambition seems to be sky rocketing.

If these guys and gal score a record deal with this I’m taking up crack smoking again.
